Hair How to: The Perfect Beach Waves
My name is Rosibel and I’m a freelance hairstylist based in NYC. I’ve been doing hair for about nine years now and I absolutely love what I do. I especially love creating different looks on all of my clients and making them feel even more beautiful. I love when my clients let me explore different ideas even if it means to come out of their comfort zone a bit. Having worked with Whitney, she automatically trusted me to style her hair with whatever I had in mind, and the end result was pure perfection. That brings me to these beautiful ‘bed head’ flat iron waves that EVERYONE was obsessed with on her. Below I have broken down how to achieve this look and the products I used.
- On freshly washed hair, prep with Christophe Robin Volumizing mist with rose water directly to the root area and use finger tips to massage into hair.
- Begin blowing out hair using R+Co round brush #4 for smoothness and shine, while also over directing the front sections for volume and lift. blow out mohawk section towards the face so the pieces in the front can frame the face beautifully (use no crease clips to hold the front sections in place as they cool.)
- Create a clean center part using a fine tail comb and spray Oribe Dry Texture spray throughout hair to create a little texture to begin creating the flat iron waves using GHD platinum styler flat iron on small sections of the hair making sure to leave ends slightly straight. when finished waving add three drops of the Ouai Rose Oil.
- Finish by taking a small dime size amount of The Ouai Matte Pomade for piecey texture and using fingers to texturize mid shaft to ends & spraying R+Co Vicious Hair spray for hold also with a toothbrush to avoid any fly-aways at the top.
