Hi everyone! I just got back from New York City soon which has inspired me to let you guys in on my favorite places to visit while I am there! Check them out…you won’t regret it!
This hotel is one of my go-to’s when I travel to the city. It has a really fun, cool, modern and hip vibe while being in the best location in Manhattan! It sits right in the heart of Times Square between Broadway (close to shows!!!) and Bryant Park (Library and fun lunches outside!) If you need more convincing…there is an amazing rooftop bar here…a MUST when the weather is great.
Looking for an INCREDIBLE burger?? LOOK NO FURTHER. JG Melon is by far one of my favorite places to hit if I’m in the mood for a perfect cheeseburger. Walking around the city is exhausting, so this is where I go to get some extra fuel. Additionally, the environment here is so New York (cozy with tons of character). Let me know what you think!
Seafood is one of my favorite types of food to eat while in New York. Lure Fish Bar it my top choice when it comes to seafood. I LOVE the Cobb Salad and Fried Shrimp. One of the best parts about this restaurant is it is the décor is nautically themed which really gets me in the mood for fish.
Do you like French food? You’ve never had French food and want to try some?? Ok, well then go to The Odeon!!! It is a really amazing French Bistro that serves all meals…yes, breakfast and brunch! This place is really fun and has that beloved outdoor seating popular in New York and Paris. I highly recommend you try this. Timmy and I love the Hanger Steak and Frisbee Salad….you can’t go wrong.
I’ve hit my top food choices…now I am going to switch gears to my other favorite activity next to eating…SHOPPING. I ALWAYS hit up Bergdorf Goodman’s when I’m in Manhattan. I mean…you can’t go to New York and not do a little bit of shopping, right? Bergdorf’s is one of my favorites for a couple of reasons. 1. It is on 5thAve, one of the meccas for shopping, 2. They always have incredible and iconic window displays, 3. It is right next to Central Park! After checking out some clothes, you just walk one more block to see the Plaza AND the Park!
It’s true…New York City can be tiring. It is one of the busiest cities in the world. I am always, GO, GO, GO from the moment I get there. Sometimes I just need to take a breath and moment to relax. Where do I do this? Think Pink Spa. This place is perfect for a mani/pedi moment. The staff will make you feel so welcome and offer up a relaxing and wonderful time!
After that busy day in New York, it’s time for that evening drink. You HAVE to go to Bemelmans Bar in the Carlyle Hotel!! This iconic bar isn’t famous for no reason. It is one of the coolest places in the city for a drink. Remember the Madeline books?? This bar is named after the creator, Ludwig Bemelmans. The décor is all Madeline (wallpaper, lampshades…the works!) This bar will put you in the best mood…and always make you want to go home and read Madeline.
If you are looking for a different type of vibe at a bar, you should go to Puffy’s! It is a really low-key, pub type setting. Great place if you want to grab a quick beer…or several beers if you want to spend more time! It’s versatile, fun and easy.
When I want to get my Brooklyn fix, I check out Front General Store! This place is seriously so cool. It is where some amazing vintage shopping happens. They have everything you can think of…clothing, accessories, home goods, art…EVERYTHING. Seriously, check this place out.
Who doesn’t love looking at furniture?? I LOVE IT. Especially at ABC Carpet and Home. This place has so much to look at and choose from. I of course now love looking at their baby and nursery section! This is a place where I can jointly shop for myself and Sonny at the same time! Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!
