It feels like overnight all of our lives changed drastically. Quarantine was definitely a shock to our family’s system. We went through many phases of coping. The beginning was filled with so much anxiety fueled by fear of the virus, uncertainty and feeling trapped at home. Before too long, we quickly realized we needed to start truly taking care of ourselves – mentally and physically.
If you guys follow me on Instagram, you are well aware that we have been doing all kinds of renovations on our house! WELL…it’s finished!! I’m so SO happy. It feels like a new house. One of the rooms we attacked was Sonny’s. He did not have his own bathroom, so we gave him one! We are all thankful to have a separate space for him.
Hi guys!! Happy Almost Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there! This is my second Mother’s Day with Sonny, and this year has already been extra special. Definitely much more fulfilling and enjoyable than the first ;). Not that I didn’t love my first year, but it was trying, as many of you know. The infant stage was hard but the toddler phase is just the best. I am SOOOO excited now to wake up and be a mom to Sonny every single morning.
Sonny’s new FAVORITE time of the day is bath time. For a while, we were bathing him in our kitchen sink because we were honestly too afraid to bring him into the big tub. He was growing out of it and it wasn’t such an enjoyable experience for him OR for us. However, we have a super old bathtub and were worried our knees would give out if we had to bend over and put pressure on them every night!
I am so excited for the holidays this year!! Usually we head to Vermont of Florida to spend time with Tim’s side of the fam but this year we are headed to New York and Amagansett for a real city Christmas! Though petrified of the flight with a walk 1 and a half year old, I can’t wait to see Sonny get all bundled up and experience snow for the first time. I didn’t see my first snowfall until I was in college. Isn’t that crazy?
I feel like the question I get asked most is how I balance between motherhood and work. Honestly, it is a challenge. First of all, I think the word “balance” can be a dirty word for a mom. Sometimes it feels so unattainable that I stop even trying to find it. It’s just a word. I think the healthier mindset is one of finding peace in the imbalance.
This post is sponsored by JOHNSON’S. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It’s officially been one year since Sonny was born, and I can’t believe how fast time flew by!
From pregnancy to the present, I’ve researched and tried many products on Sonny to see what worked for his skin type (he has sensitive skin, just like his mama ;)). Something that’s remained a constant for him throughout these past months are Johnson’s baby products. The brand was one of my mom’s go-to’s for my siblings and I back in the day, so it only felt natural integrating their products into Sonny’s life!
