Wrapping up our bathroom series! For the first 2 years of his life, Sonny shared a bathroom with Timmy and me. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but once we started this renovation process I knew we would all appreciate him having his own! We had gotten used to giving him a bath in the sink or our bathtub but we were ready for our independent bathing experiences. (Especially now since we are in the potty training phase!) I think this one was the most exciting because we were starting from absolute scratch.
We turned his closet into the bathroom, removed our bathtub to make more room for him, and then built a custom Laren closet with The Container Store so he had some storage in his bedroom. The customizable closets are so great. We got to pick from eight different finishes plus all kinds of other customizations including the glass cabinets!
I knew I wanted to do this updated checker style floor with Bedrosians Tile & Stone and subway style tile in his shower but the rest I was a little unsure of! Marie Flanigan inspired us to do the stained wood shiplap behind his sink and suggested this mid century fixture.
