Talking About Race With Your Kids

Hi Guys, Our country is in turmoil right now. One of the most important things…if not THE most important thing we can do long term is to educate ourselves and our children about racism. The looming question I know other white parents are facing is “is my child too young to start talking to them about race issues?” The short answer is NO. Timmy and I started by buying lots of books for Sonny that support conversations on race, racism and resistance. You can see the first batch we got in my BLACK LIVES MATTER highlight on Instagram.

Must Have Products from Skincare Specialist Nisha Shah, PA-C at MFC Dermatology

Hi Guys! There is so much out of our control right now that it feels good to take charge of our daily routines by simplifying. While my skincare routine has always felt efficient, I tend to use a lot of different products because I love trying new things. I love to try new things and will continue to but it is also promising to hear that we don’t need as much as we think we do on a normal basis. Nisha Shah, a Physician’s Assistant at Moy, Fincher, Chipps Facial Plastics and Dermatology, reminded me in our live yesterday that … Continued

Helping Babies and Toddlers Sleep Well During COVID-19

Hi Parents, Like everyone else, our daily routine and schedule has drastically changed. We had Sonny on a very strict schedule which included a very precise nap and bedtime. It wasn’t difficult to get him to fall asleep, because he was always tired after school. Even though his regular routine has changed and is different every day, we are still striving to keep nap time and bed time consistent…for him and for us.

Giving and Receiving: Balanced Living in Unbalanced Times

Hi,  As a mom, you feel an overwhelming responsibility to put your loved ones needs before your own and if you don’t you feel guilty about it. However, I have quickly learned that this is not productive for anyone. We have to take care of ourselves in order to be at our best to help others. That is self-care 101 right there. Right now, this is especially hard to do because it seems so selfish, but it is important to make ourselves an equal priority.

Sonny’s Bathroom Reveal

Hi!! Wrapping up our bathroom series! For the first 2 years of his life, Sonny shared a bathroom with Timmy and me. It wasn’t that big of a deal, but once we started this renovation process I knew we would all appreciate him having his own! We had gotten used to giving him a bath in the sink or our bathtub but we were ready for our independent bathing experiences. (Especially now since we are in the potty training phase!) I think this one was the most exciting because we were starting from absolute scratch.
